Ginsburg, Saul
(1866-1940)
   Russian author and historian. He was born in Minsk. In 1903 he estab-lished the first Yiddish daily in Russia. Later he devoted himself to the study of the cultural history of the Jews in Russia. He left the USSR in 1930 and settled in Paris, later moving to New York. Together with Peretz Marek he published Jewish Folk Songs. His Historical Works contains material on 19th-century Russian Jewry.
